Celebrating First Birthday with Mud Pie

March 28, 2018

First Birthday Bash!

We had so much fun filming videos for a little something we have up our sleeve! We played with these two precious cuties and it was super sweet in more ways than one. Here is a sneak peak of our first birthday celebration dressed head to toe in Mud Pie!

Celebrating First Birthday with Mud Pie

What we learned:

1. Talk about a sugar rush! These two were all over the place after they ate their weight in cake. Make your little one’s birthday picture perfect and shop all of our birthday products on mudpie.com now! (and our Gold Edge Marble Serving Board Set)

2. It is going to get messy, that is OK! Baby + cake = a complete mess. But that is how it is supposed to be. Create a cake smashing space inside the house with a disposable table cover (you can get one at the dollar store) underneath the high chair. You can also move the event outside.

3. Make sure you have a bib AND a back up bib, because it’s going to get everywhere.

4. Don’t put the cake down until you are ready to roll. We learned the second we set the cake down, these two went after it. Make sure you are ready to snap a pic or record a video and then set the cake down and let them get to smashing!

5. A first birthday party is all about the birthday boy/girl, but make sure the guests have something sweet to eat too! Get an extra cake (we ordered two of the exact same cake) for your guests, because the smash cake will have baby hands, nose and even feet all over it.

National Pie Day with Mud Pie!

January 23, 2018

Happy National Pie Day, gals!

Here at Mud Pie, we give into every excuse to celebrate anything and everything that has to do with pie, because pie fixes everything, right? Did you know that January 23rd is National Pie Day?

We are absolutely drooling over this Oreo Home Made Pie we put together. YUM!

National Pie Day

National Pie Day

National Pie Day

Ingredients & Recipe

For the pie crust:

25 Oreo Cookies

5 tablespoons unsalted melted butter

——

  1. Finely crush your cookies. I like to use a food processor for this step, but you can also place the cookies in a plastic bag and roll the sealed bag with a rolling pin. If you’re using a rolling pin, seal the bag but leave about an inch open for air to escape. You’ll have to put some muscle in it to get a fine crush. The crust sticks together best when the cookies are crushed finely.

NOTE: You do NOT need to remove the filling from the Oreo.

2. Stir the cookie crumbs and melted butter together with a fork. Press crumbs into the bottom and up the sides of our Circa Pie Plate. Chill until ready to fill.

3. For a no-bake pie: chill the crust about 30 minutes before filling, then fill/chill as directed in the recipe.

Recipe from: Crazy for Crust

For the filling:

1 cup heavy whipping cream

1 block (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

1/3 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups crushed Oreo cookies

Additional Oreos and whipped cream for garnish (optional)

——

1. In medium mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy {to avoid lumps make sure cream cheese is really soft or place in microwave for 20 seconds}.

2. Add in vanilla extract and granulated sugar. Beat until combined.

3. In separate bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form.

4. Using a rubber spatula, pour the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture and gently mix together. Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies and combine.

5. Dump into the pie crust and smooth the top.

6. Refrigerate for 6 hours before serving.

7. Before serving, garnish with additional whipped cream and Oreos.

Recipe from: Together as a Family

Well we learned a few things baking a pie from scratch. One, we LOVE pie (but that doesn’t surprise us) and two, we aren’t professional pie stylists, but we are putting pie bakers on our resume because it was DELISH! It was so easy and fun using our Circa Pie Plate & Server Set. We also have a wide variety of mixing bowls and a vintage-inspired Circa Measuring Spoon Set. (ps – hand model is wearing our best-selling Baelyn Plaid Button Down)

Want something even sweeter? We are giving you FREE SHIPPING from now until midnight (1/23 at 11:59pm est)!

Fall Bucket List: Drink a Pumpkin Spice Latte

Fall Bucket List: Drink a Pumpkin Spice Latte

Ok, we may or may not have counted down the days until it was socially acceptable to drink a Pumpkin Spice Latte. Now that it is officially October, we are sippin’ our PSLs and enjoying the taste of Fall in a cup.

Make your own Pumpkin Spice Latte

Grabbing coffee while you are out can get expensive (plus, that money can get you more fun Fall items on mudpie.com instead!) We want to share our FAV PSL recipe with you that will cut the calories and the cost! We found the recipe Amy’s Healthy Baking put together this season and our mouths are watering simply getting ready to type it out for you.

Ingredients:

1 cup nonfat milk

1 tbsp pumpkin puree

4 drops vanila creme stevia, or adjustesd to taste

1/8 tsp ground cinnamon

tiny pinch ground nutmeg

tiny pinch ground ginger

3/4 cup extra strong coffee (or two shots of espresso, because it’s just one of those days)

Directions:

  1. Add the milk and pumpkin to a small pot. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring constantly with a whisk, until the mixture begins to simmer. Add in the stevia, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Whisk the mixture until it becomes frothy.

2. Add the coffee to a large mug, and pour the milk mixture on top

#FallingForMP

Naturally we were #FallingForMP when we realized Mud Pie had the PERFECT mug to hold our delicious drink. There is just something about Fall that puts us in a good mood. We aren’t sure if it’s the PSL, the leaves changing or being able to wear the coziest sweater ever (pssst: the Tobi Turtleneck Poncho comes in THREE different colors!) but we are #FallingForMP and falling in love with Fall.

Drink a Pumpkin Spice Latte: CHECK

Well this is one item on our bucket list we will probably check off about 15 more times, but who is counting? Have you checked off any of the items on your Fall bucket list yet? Post your photos on social media, tag us @mudpiegift and use #FallingForMP so we can see how you tackle the bucket list!

Fall Bucket List: Go to a Football Game

Fall Bucket List Football Game Custom Image

Fall Bucket List: Go to a Football Game

In our office, we have football fans from all over the country. Michigan, Buffalo, Auburn, Green Bay, you name it, we rep it. Our headquarters are located in Stone Mountain, Georgia, which means there are a ton of Tech fans, Falcons fans, Georgia Southern fans, Georgia State fans, and Dawg fans. We decided to head up to Athens to check off our first Fall bucket list item and you can bet we were screaming Goooooooo Dawgs! Sick em’!

What do you wear to a Football Game in Georgia?

That’s a great question. At UGA, we found two types of gals. Those that were dressed in jerseys and those that were dressed up. We liked the idea of keeping it easy and wearing jerseys, but we loved the idea of dressing up head to toe in Mud Pie! Now one thing you have to understand about the weather in Georgia, is that one weekend it will be 100 degrees and the next it will be 55 degrees, so you have to pack accordingly. We put together an outfit you could wear during the day to tailgate and then throw a layer over at night when you head to the game.

We received so many compliments on our outfit from fans of all ages! The Tripp made a great layering piece, the Iverson helped the outfit stay fun and flirty, the Ruana kept us warm once the sun went down and the accessories added that little extra something we needed. We brought along the Georgina to throw over the Tripp just in case the temperature dropped fast. Mud Pie has a lot of red and black, but we also have MANY other colors. Gray, maroon, olive, navy, tan, white, cream, silver and even fun prints! There is a piece for every fashionable football fan. You can join us in #FallingForMP at your football game by shopping all of our styles at Mudpie.com. Which Mud Pie items would you purchase to go to a football game? 5 Things We’ve Been Loving Lately

September 15, 2017
5 Things Header

Can you believe it is already the middle of September? I know we say this a lot, but where did the time go? Fall is coming fast, but you won’t find us complaining! That means layers, pumpkin spice everything and decorating for holidays! As the seasons begin to change, we are absolutely ‘Fall’ing in love with our new Fall 2017 pieces. Here are 5 things we’ve been absolutely loving lately.

5 Things We’ve Been Loving Lately:

5 Things We've Been Loving Lately: Iverson Suede Skirt

Suede is in style this season, so naturally we are crushing on suede everything. The Iverson Suede Skirts go great with leggings, tights, or bare legged. Wear out with friends, on game days, or date nights with the boo thang. (Warning: super comfortable material that may make you want to wear it all the time)

5 Things We've Been Loving Lately: Terracotta Pumpkin Coffee Mug

Fall means pumpkin everything, right? Even when it comes down to what you put your pumpkin spike latte in. We can’t get enough of these Terracotta Pumpkin Coffee Mugs that come in both green and orange. From coffee, to soup, to hot cocoa, we will be using these mugs all season long.

5 Things We've Been Loving Lately: Decorative Witch Broom Stick

Time to take out those bins tucked away in storage and break out the holiday decorations. But this year, we think you need a few new decor goodies. First up, Halloween! These Decorative Witch Broom Sticks  feature birch handle and bound raffia bristles. The broom is available with three different linen sayings: “Can’t fly with the big girls? Stay off the Broom,” “If the broom fits Ride it” or”Broom Parking violators will be toad.” Time to win ‘Best Decorated House’ in the neighborhood!

5 Things We've Been Loving Lately: Puppy Applique Tunic & Legging Set

Okay, we may be just a tad bit biased, but our Baby & Kids line is cuter than ever! Starting with this Puppy Applique Tunic & Legging Set for your little princess. It’s a great piece for Fall or Winter. With a light weight velour long sleeve tunic and cotton spandex leggings, your sweet girl will want to wear this every day.

5 Things We've Been Loving Lately: Go Wild Giraffe Two Piece Set

Wild and crazy! This Go Wild Giraffe Two Piece Set comes in newborn size up to 12 months. This season, we are stocking up on this set to give as baby shower gifts to friends that are expecting!
