Why the March of Dimes?

1.  Premature birth is the #1 killer of babies. Each year, 1 in 10 babies are born prematurely in the United States.

2. Premature birth costs society more than $26 billion a year. Babies born early are at risk for problems and disabilities.

National Pie Day with Mud Pie!

January 23, 2018

Happy National Pie Day, gals!

Here at Mud Pie, we give into every excuse to celebrate anything and everything that has to do with pie, because pie fixes everything, right? Did you know that January 23rd is National Pie Day?

We are absolutely drooling over this Oreo Home Made Pie we put together. YUM!

National Pie Day

National Pie Day

National Pie Day

Ingredients & Recipe

For the pie crust:

25 Oreo Cookies

5 tablespoons unsalted melted butter

——

  1. Finely crush your cookies. I like to use a food processor for this step, but you can also place the cookies in a plastic bag and roll the sealed bag with a rolling pin. If you’re using a rolling pin, seal the bag but leave about an inch open for air to escape. You’ll have to put some muscle in it to get a fine crush. The crust sticks together best when the cookies are crushed finely.

NOTE: You do NOT need to remove the filling from the Oreo.

2. Stir the cookie crumbs and melted butter together with a fork. Press crumbs into the bottom and up the sides of our Circa Pie Plate. Chill until ready to fill.

3. For a no-bake pie: chill the crust about 30 minutes before filling, then fill/chill as directed in the recipe.

Recipe from: Crazy for Crust

For the filling:

1 cup heavy whipping cream

1 block (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

1/3 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups crushed Oreo cookies

Additional Oreos and whipped cream for garnish (optional)

——

1. In medium mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy {to avoid lumps make sure cream cheese is really soft or place in microwave for 20 seconds}.

2. Add in vanilla extract and granulated sugar. Beat until combined.

3. In separate bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form.

4. Using a rubber spatula, pour the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture and gently mix together. Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies and combine.

5. Dump into the pie crust and smooth the top.

6. Refrigerate for 6 hours before serving.

7. Before serving, garnish with additional whipped cream and Oreos.

Recipe from: Together as a Family

Well we learned a few things baking a pie from scratch. One, we LOVE pie (but that doesn’t surprise us) and two, we aren’t professional pie stylists, but we are putting pie bakers on our resume because it was DELISH! It was so easy and fun using our Circa Pie Plate & Server Set. We also have a wide variety of mixing bowls and a vintage-inspired Circa Measuring Spoon Set. (ps – hand model is wearing our best-selling Baelyn Plaid Button Down)

Want something even sweeter? We are giving you FREE SHIPPING from now until midnight (1/23 at 11:59pm est)!

Mud Pie Playlist: New Year, New You Playlist

January 10, 2018

New Year, New You!

Happy New Year, babes! The holidays are over and 2018 is officially here! We are so excited for all that 2018 has in store for us, we can hardly contain ourselves. One of our Mud Pie babes got engaged, one got a new puppy and one moved into her brand new house! So we’d have to agree that these first few days of 2018 are going to be hard to top!

New Year New You Playlist  New Year New You Playlist  New Year New You Playlist

One MAJOR part of starting a new chapter every year, is setting New Year’s resolutions. A lot were set here in the office, including a lot on the list below. What were your New Year’s resolutions?

Top 10  New Year’s resolutions ( according to Statista)

1.  Eat healthier

2. Get more exercise

3. Save money

4. Focus on self-care

5. Read more

6. Make new friends

7. Learn a new skill

8. Get a (new) job

9. Take up a new hobby

10. I am not making any New Year’s resolution

New Year, new ways we can help!

Now we wish we could say we could help you with all of your resolutions this year. While we may not be able to help you with absolutely everything, we can help with a few!

1. Eat healthier – It’s easier to eat healthier when you have fun serving pieces to put the food in. Fill our Veggie Bowl Set to the top with your favorite healthy foods.

2. Get more exercise – This was definitely on our list (not going to lie, it is every year!) Even if it is taking a few minutes out of our lunch break to walk around the warehouse, we are determined to exercise more this year. While we can’t force you to go to the gym, we can motivate you with darling athletic wear you can buy right now on our sister site, Mud Pie Market

3. Save money – We can absolutely help here. While all of our Mud Pie products are already marked at great prices, we also have our sister site, Mud Pie Market, where you can find products you already like, at prices you will absolutely love.

4. Focus on self-care – There are a lot of angles to this one. Washing your face more, brushing your teeth more or even being in a happier state of mind. We have a great selection of Make Up Bags that you can store your make up or toiletries in. Need a mental pick me up or know someone going through a hard time? Our Pazitive Thoughts collection has a little something to brighten up everyone’s day.

5. Read more – Here are a list of best books to read in 2018. While we don’t sell books, we do sell the coziest blankets you can curl up under while reading a great book!

6. Make new friends – Easy, friend us on Facebook and Instagram, we may throw a like or two your way!

7. Learn a new skill – Like cooking! Don’t forget the essentials!

8. Get a (new) job – Come work with us! Check out our careers page & see if you are everything we’ve been searching for.

9. Take up a new hobby – Maybe you want to become an interior designer? Or learn how to monogram? Or even become a personal stylist (or just changing up your own wardrobe)

10. I am not making any New Year’s resolution – That’s okay too! Sometimes you have to set smaller goals in order to reach the bigger picture, or maybe you are just going into 2018 with an open mind! Celebrate every moment of 2018.

New Year, New Playlist!

Whether it is at the gym, working on your fitness goals, or cleaning around the house, we have created a brand new playlist to kick off 2018!

What are your New Year’s Resolutions in 2018?

Fall Bucket List: Host a Friendsgiving

Fall Bucket List: Host a Friendsgiving

The holidays are FINALLY upon us and we couldn’t be more excited to kick off all of the celebrations. Here at Mud Pie, we don’t just work together, we spend a lot of our free time with each other too! We had a few Mud Pie gals over for a Friendsgiving and our stomachs are aching from laughing so much and eating such delicious food.

First, the decor!

Not going to lie, we wish we could get away with keeping our table looking this good all year round! On our Friendsgiving table was the Grainsack Pumpkin Table Runner, an Oh So Thankful Printed Napkin for each guest with their name in our Green Pumpkin Place Card Holder, Feather Pumpkin Table Sitters (both the small and large), the Pine Cone Candle Holders and the Terracotta Pumpkin Salt & Pepper Shaker Set. Being Mud Pie gals, we had to decorate the entire place! We swapped out our everyday pillow for the Happy Fall Hook Pillow, the best selling Pumpkin Three Piece Tray Set that sat in the middle of our coffee table and replaced our oven towels with the Fall French Knot Linen Hand Towel and the Turkey French Knot Towel.

Now the delicious food!

Wow, we had so much food, we could have fed everyone in the office! We stuffed ourselves full of the most delicious food and now we all have very happy food babies. (Can we take a nap, please?) We toasted to everything we are grateful, thankful and blessed for in the world and then dove right in! In Mud Pie style, we had to have a charcuterie board. We placed the cheese, meat & grapes on our Wood & Enamel Turkey Serving Board and the crackers on our Thankful Mini Ceramic Serving Pedestal to give it some height. Of course we put the stuffing in our Thankstuffing Ceramic Serving Bowl Set (comes with a spoon that says ‘I’m Stuffed, You’re Stuffed, We’re all Stuffed’), the brussels sprouts in the Circa Veggie Bowl Set and the sweet potato casserole in the Oh So Thankful Baker Set (spoon says ‘Let the stuffing begin’). You can put the baker set in the oven up to 350 degrees! We also had an amazing salad with walnuts, goat cheese, cucumbers and beets all tossed over spinach and we had mac and cheese served in our Leftovers Ceramic Dish Two Piece Set (spoon says ‘Second Time Around’) but recommend serving it in our Ceramic Mac & Cheese Serving Bowl Set (comes with a spoon that says ‘Cheesy Goodness’). We set our absolutely mouth watering turkey on the Metal Acorn Serving Tray and decorated it with a little rosemary (you could also serve it on our Scalloped Turkey Serving Platter Set that comes with a fork that we used that says ‘Talk Turkey To Me’). Of course we couldn’t forget the cranberry sauce, which we put in our darling Tin Turkey Mini Dip Cup Stand Set. Don’t worry, we had dessert too! We made the BEST monkey bread we have ever tasted and put it on display on the Cake Pedestal Stand.

Fall Bucket List: Go to a Football Game

October 3, 2017
Fall Bucket List Football Game Custom Image

Fall Bucket List: Go to a Football Game

In our office, we have football fans from all over the country. Michigan, Buffalo, Auburn, Green Bay, you name it, we rep it. Our headquarters are located in Stone Mountain, Georgia, which means there are a ton of Tech fans, Falcons fans, Georgia Southern fans, Georgia State fans, and Dawg fans. We decided to head up to Athens to check off our first Fall bucket list item and you can bet we were screaming Goooooooo Dawgs! Sick em’!

What do you wear to a Football Game in Georgia?

That’s a great question. At UGA, we found two types of gals. Those that were dressed in jerseys and those that were dressed up. We liked the idea of keeping it easy and wearing jerseys, but we loved the idea of dressing up head to toe in Mud Pie! Now one thing you have to understand about the weather in Georgia, is that one weekend it will be 100 degrees and the next it will be 55 degrees, so you have to pack accordingly. We put together an outfit you could wear during the day to tailgate and then throw a layer over at night when you head to the game.

We received so many compliments on our outfit from fans of all ages! The Tripp made a great layering piece, the Iverson helped the outfit stay fun and flirty, the Ruana kept us warm once the sun went down and the accessories added that little extra something we needed. We brought along the Georgina to throw over the Tripp just in case the temperature dropped fast. Mud Pie has a lot of red and black, but we also have MANY other colors. Gray, maroon, olive, navy, tan, white, cream, silver and even fun prints! There is a piece for every fashionable football fan. You can join us in #FallingForMP at your football game by shopping all of our styles at Mudpie.com. Which Mud Pie items would you purchase to go to a football game?
