Fall Bucket List: Listen to the March of Dimes Lullaby

Mud Pie believes in the importance of tomorrow

Mud Pie believes that every baby deserves to start life healthy form head to toe. Thanks to the support of our retailers and customers, Mud Pie has donated over half a million dollars to the March of Dimes – one dime at a time – through the sale of our baby socks and soft headbands. Mud Pie’s signature partnership with the March of Dimes continues as we have guaranteed a minimum donation of $150,000 in 2017.

This year, the March of Dimes has put together a two and a half hour lullaby that your little one can listen to before bedtime, nap time any time in between! The lullabies are a promise of tomorrow and provides soothing and comfort for your sweetheart. We played the lullaby for our darling Mud Pie baby, Sydney. She loved it so much, she wanted to take it into her own hands!

Did you know? Your purchase of Mud Pie socks and soft headbands supports the March of Dimes with a 10 cent donation for each item. So as you fall in love with Mud Pie outfits for your little one, add in a few pairs of socks and a couple headbands to help give another baby the promise of tomorrow.

Listen to the March of Dimes Lullaby: CHECK

We enjoyed scratching this item off of our bucket list as much as our little munchkin did! We winded down and enjoyed simply laying and listening to the lullabies with baby Syd. Have you checked off any of the items on your Fall bucket list yet? Post your photos on social media, tag us @mudpiegift and use #FallingForMP so we can see how you tackle the bucket list!

World Prematurity Day 2016

November 17, 2016

worldprematurityday

Today is the 6th annual World Prematurity Day. About 15 million babies around the world are born premature, and 1 in 10 are born prematurely in the United States every year. Premature birth is the number one killer of babies in the United States and those who survive face lifelong health problems such as vision loss, cerebral palsy and breathing problems.

March of Dimes  is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health and have aided in research, education and vaccines for mothers and baby for over 75 years. They have made it their mission to help more moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies. In  just two years, the nation’s preterm birth rate has decreased from 11.4 percent to 9.63 percent.

Mud Pie has once again paired with March of Dimes to help spread awareness and aid in funding research to prevent premature births worldwide.  There are three ways you can help Mud Pie and the March of Dimes spread love and help bundles of joy around the world. Little by little, small things add up!

You can buy your sweet cheeks a pair of socks (or many pairs… one can never have too many), or give them as a gift to friends with newborns to keep their tinny toes warm and oh so cute! 10 cents from every purchase will be donated to March of Dimes.

New in 2016, Mud Pie has introduced an exclusive March of Dimes Piggy Bank. The classic ceramic bank, featuring a raised “love” footprint, will support the March of Dimes with a $5 donation for each piggy bank purchased.

It’s the most perfect time to shop for a cause! Come shop away at our Annual Charity Warehouse Sale, where ALL net proceeds (including the admission fee) will be donated to March of Dimes.

What else is going on in support for the cause? Well, about 50 different countries are participating in World Prematurity day by wearing purple, sharing stories, hosting events and lighting up famous buildings purple (like the Empire State Building in New York). Today, you can change your profile picture to increase awareness

You can also share this message from the March of Dimes, or post pictures to social media using the hashtag #givethemtomorrow and #worldprematurityday to show mothers and children around the world how you are spreading the word.

Every day is a gift and every healthy bundle of joy is too.

Creative Uses for Baby Socks

October 20, 2016

babysocksheader

Baby socks. A mommy can never have too many pairs. Maybe because one can’t help but spend money on something so cute and little, or maybe because baby can never have enough fuzzies to keep their little toes warm. And then there is the case of the washer and dryer eating socks, and who really knows what to do with the infamous lost sock?

Mud Pie knows the sock game all too well. In fact, we are such big supporters of it, that we donate 10 cents to the March of Dimes for each pair of socks purchased. So whether you purchase new socks because one too many have gone missing, or you purchase socks as a gift for the mommy-to-be, you help us support the fight to end premature birth.

Now, back to the never having enough pairs of socks talk. Baby or adult, socks are a necessity. But what other uses do baby socks have besides cute little feet pictures and putting them on your dogs paws for all the giggles? We have rounded up numerous creative uses for baby socks.

Décor and gift all in one! It’s a win-win when hosting a baby shower for the mommy-to-be. Not to mention, it is SO easy. All you need is string, clothespins and baby socks. Simply drape the string on a mantel, on the wall, on a table…anywhere you see fit! Then clip the baby socks with clothespin to the string. After the baby shower is over, let the mommy-to-be take the socks for her future little.

176275_mudp3168_silocorsage

This is a fun and unique idea for baby showers. Similar to a flower corsage, and just as beautiful. You simply roll the baby sock up and use wire to create a corsage. You can find examples and how to’s on Mud Pie’s Pinterest: HERE & HERE.

176279_mudp3168_silo gifttopper

A fun way to gift a little something extra with your present for the mommy-to-be. Instead of using a big bow, or gift tag, tie on a pair of baby socks with a small note tucked inside. You can even use ribbon to create a big bow around it.

wreath

This one is fun! Whether you are a future mommy wanting to display your big announcement to the neighbors, or the hostess of a baby shower, a baby wreath is an easy decoration. All you need is a foam wreath, scissors, baby socks and ribbons. You can also add diapers to it! Examples HERE & HERE176270_mudp3168_silopotpourri

This is for all those lost socks. Or even as a baby shower gift for all the guests! It’s easy and very useful. Take a baby sock and fill it with your favorite smelling potpourri. Sew up the top and voila! You have a air freshener to put in your clothes drawers, in your car, in the baby’s nursery and anywhere else you see fit.

176276_mudp3168_silo sockbouquet

Similar to the baby corsage. We’re sure many of you have seen the diaper cakes. Imagine the same concept with baby socks. They can be a gift for the mommy-to-be, a table center piece at baby showers or even for maternity pictures – how cute! Find out how to make a baby sock bouquet HERE & HERE.

There you have it. Many creative uses for baby socks.

And lucky you, Mud Pie’s Ribbon Sock Sale is happening now! So you can create a memorable gift with cute socks at a great price. USE CODE: SOCKSALE3 for an additional 20% off when your purchase two or more pairs!

Prematurity Awareness Month

Prematurity Awareness Month

You can only imagine how much Mud Pie loves little ones. We are, of course, a company that specializes in baby and kids fashion! Let’s talk about something close to our heart…something that moms, dads, brothers, sisters, everyone should be aware of: premature birth.

About 380,000 babies are born too soon every year, making prematurity the #1 cause of infant death and disabilities in this country. Despite medical treatment in the United States, that gives the tiniest babies a better chance of survival, there are still numerous health challenges and lifelong disabilities faced.

World Prematurity Day Mud Pie and March of Dimes

Today is Wold Prematurity Day. Did you know that every year, about 450,000 babies are born too soon in the United States? That’s 1 in 9 babies that is born premature. But the good news is that our country’s preterm birth rate has declined by 11 percent over the last 7 years. However, it still remains too high at 11.4 percent, which is higher than most developed nations.

Premature birth costs society more than $26 billion a year and takes a high toll on families. Babies born just a few weeks early are at risk of severe health problems and lifelong disabilities. Premature birth is the number 1 killer of newborns.

That’s why in 2003 the March of Dimes launched the Prematurity Campaign to address the crisis and help families have full-term, healthy babies. The March of Dimes is funding lifesaving research and speaking out for legislation that improves care for moms and babies.

As a supporter and partner of March of Dimes, Mud Pie donates 10¢ of every sock and soft headband sold to help eradicate prematurity and provide comfort to those who experience premature birth in their families. This November, Mud Pie is joining March of Dimes in celebrating Prematurity Awareness Month®, a time when the March of Dimes focuses the nation’s attention on premature birth. On November 17 we’ll join organizations across the world to recognize World Prematurity Day, and we’re asking everyone to help spread the world on the serious problem of premature birth.

Visit the Facebook page for more information, and to view stories and videos about babies born too soon. The page features an interactive world map showing the home place for each story told.

Please help bring attention to World Prematurity Day and remember that every pair of socks or soft headbands sold supports the work of the March of Dimes.
