Counting Down the Final Few Days of Summer with Mud Pie

August 6, 2018

August is here, which means so is the start of school! But just because the week days are spend in a classroom, doesn’t mean the Summer fun has to stop on the weekends. We have put together our favorite things to do when school is in session, but still have fun in the sun on the weekends!

1. Summer pool party:

Splish, splash! We are the type of person that goes to the pool every weekend until they close it for Fall. Grab your little one’s bathing suit, floats, your cover up, beach bag, hat and towel and grill out by the pool with your neighborhood friends.

2. Go to the zoo:

Hang out where the wild things are! Dress your little party animal up in a Mud Pie outfit with an animal applique. From tops, to rompers, to dresses and sets, we have the most darling pieces to show off their wild side.

3. Weekend at the lake:

There is only a few more weekends to spend floating around.  Grab your float + your hubby’s fishing pole and relax! Don’t forget about these outfits for your baby boy or baby girl! They are a real catch!

4. Family Photos:

Close out the Summer with memories that will last a lifetime. Dress your best, grab your family and take photos out by the park.

5. Go to a baseball game:

Take me out to the ball game! Grab your little all-star, a glove and peanuts and head out to the ball park for a home run of a day!

How are you celebrating the last few weekends of Summer? Tag us in a photo on Instagram (@mudpiegift) so we can see how you incorporate Mud Pie into your fun in the sun!

Fall Bucket List: Host a Friendsgiving

Fall Bucket List: Host a Friendsgiving

The holidays are FINALLY upon us and we couldn’t be more excited to kick off all of the celebrations. Here at Mud Pie, we don’t just work together, we spend a lot of our free time with each other too! We had a few Mud Pie gals over for a Friendsgiving and our stomachs are aching from laughing so much and eating such delicious food.

First, the decor!

Not going to lie, we wish we could get away with keeping our table looking this good all year round! On our Friendsgiving table was the Grainsack Pumpkin Table Runner, an Oh So Thankful Printed Napkin for each guest with their name in our Green Pumpkin Place Card Holder, Feather Pumpkin Table Sitters (both the small and large), the Pine Cone Candle Holders and the Terracotta Pumpkin Salt & Pepper Shaker Set. Being Mud Pie gals, we had to decorate the entire place! We swapped out our everyday pillow for the Happy Fall Hook Pillow, the best selling Pumpkin Three Piece Tray Set that sat in the middle of our coffee table and replaced our oven towels with the Fall French Knot Linen Hand Towel and the Turkey French Knot Towel.

Now the delicious food!

Wow, we had so much food, we could have fed everyone in the office! We stuffed ourselves full of the most delicious food and now we all have very happy food babies. (Can we take a nap, please?) We toasted to everything we are grateful, thankful and blessed for in the world and then dove right in! In Mud Pie style, we had to have a charcuterie board. We placed the cheese, meat & grapes on our Wood & Enamel Turkey Serving Board and the crackers on our Thankful Mini Ceramic Serving Pedestal to give it some height. Of course we put the stuffing in our Thankstuffing Ceramic Serving Bowl Set (comes with a spoon that says ‘I’m Stuffed, You’re Stuffed, We’re all Stuffed’), the brussels sprouts in the Circa Veggie Bowl Set and the sweet potato casserole in the Oh So Thankful Baker Set (spoon says ‘Let the stuffing begin’). You can put the baker set in the oven up to 350 degrees! We also had an amazing salad with walnuts, goat cheese, cucumbers and beets all tossed over spinach and we had mac and cheese served in our Leftovers Ceramic Dish Two Piece Set (spoon says ‘Second Time Around’) but recommend serving it in our Ceramic Mac & Cheese Serving Bowl Set (comes with a spoon that says ‘Cheesy Goodness’). We set our absolutely mouth watering turkey on the Metal Acorn Serving Tray and decorated it with a little rosemary (you could also serve it on our Scalloped Turkey Serving Platter Set that comes with a fork that we used that says ‘Talk Turkey To Me’). Of course we couldn’t forget the cranberry sauce, which we put in our darling Tin Turkey Mini Dip Cup Stand Set. Don’t worry, we had dessert too! We made the BEST monkey bread we have ever tasted and put it on display on the Cake Pedestal Stand.

DIY: Mud Pie In Your Home Part Two

April 25, 2017

Hey babes!

Time to get your DIY juices flowing, because we have another crafty wall for you to try this season.

So you’ve heard it before, but if you are new to the blog party (which you should just go ahead and subscribe to us, that way you’ll stay in the loop!), we will give you a little background on our ridiculously amazing design team.

A little backstory on our Super Squad

Every year, twice a year, our Mud Pie Visual Merchandising Director, Chad Gieseke rounds up his team and creates a master piece of a showroom based on that seasons catalog.

It takes a lot of time and hard work to make a showroom as innovative and beautiful as Chad and his team does. “I’m constantly thinking of ideas for the showroom. It never stops,” says Chad. Where do all of his magnificent ideas come from? Well, it’s simply the product itself. He picks up on the color, textures and icons from the product and designs from there.

And you may think that is simple. Oh, but then add in three different lines (kids, living and fashion) and then a 11,000 sq ft showroom in Atlanta, a 3,800 sq ft showroom in Las Vegas, a 4,000 sq ft showroom in Dallas AND a 800 sq ft showroom in New York. Believe it or not, Chad, his 4 freelance designers and his MP sidekick Nola have the same amount of hours in the day as we do. And just saying, I’ve never seen Chad, Nola and the team in the same room as Superman, Superwoman and their team..

Now onto the goods

We highlighted Chad and his team’s work on four different walls in the Atlanta Showroom for Spring 2017. Our second stop on this super crafty train features the jute webbing wall. How cool?! It’s like a life size weaving loom. This wall featured our Hydrangea items (hint hint: Many you can find on right now!). Along with the jute webbing, you can create your own pop of color by adding ribbon or dyed jute webbing! The best part about this wall is you can keep it up year round. Hang photos, plaques, anything you can think of!

Now, off to DIY!

Game Night: Holiday Edition

December 22, 2016

The holidays are FINALLY here!! And that means A LOT of time with your family, friends and loved ones! Other than enjoying delicious food, laughing over old memories and unwrapping gifts, you’ll have free time on your hands this weekend. It’s our version of Game Night: Holiday Edition! Here are a few fun games you can add to your family time!

Christmas Bingo can be so much fun, especially when the markers are chocolate! Print out as many boards as you need and get playing!

Now this game is one of our favs. You can play it two ways. First way, you need a few wrapped presents, mittens or oven mitts and a pair of dice. The first person starts with the oven mitts next to the present. When that player puts on the mittens and tries to unwrap the present, the person to their right rolls the dice. They keep rolling until they get doubles. Once they roll a pair, the next player puts on the mittens and tries to unwrap the gift, while the person to their right rolls the dice!  The person who opens the present completely gets to keep it!

The second way is just as fun. For this game, you will need a bunch of small boxes to wrap and as many pieces of blank paper as you have small boxes. You will then draw the words (or use a picture) SANTA on one of the pieces of paper. Place each piece of paper into one of the boxes and wrap them. Let’s say you have a group of ten people. So you will have 10 wrapped boxes that have pieces of paper in them, one has the picture or word SANTA. At the same time, each person puts on their mittens and grabs their box! You unwrap until you find out if you have SANTA inside your box. If you don’t, you can steal someone who is still going to try to see if their box has it! Winner is the one who gets the SANTA and of course they get a prize!

This website has 25 super creative party games. Check out all of them and then tell us what you think!

Did you know Hanukkah starts on Christmas Eve? Regardless of which holiday you celebrate, try out the Dreidel game! If you hdo not have a pack of dreidels, here is a print out you can cut and glue together. For this game, all you will need is a driedel and a bunch of gelt (gold chocolate coins)! You can also use pennies, Jelly Beans, or other small objects! Each player puts one piece of their gelt into the center, this will be known as the pot. The first person spins the dreidel and waits until it lands on a side. Bellow is a graph of what happens when each letter is landed on!

If the pot becomes empty, all players add one piece of their gelt back into the pot. If the player runs out of gelt, they lose, but if they end up with all the gelt, they win!!!

This game is perfect if you have a bunch of little ones hanging around! All you will need for this game is chocolate and the dot stickers you would normally use for a garage sale! On the stickers, write a letter or number. Make sure you do each letter or number twice so it has a match.Grab 16 chocolates (can be more of course!) and place one sticker on the bottom of each one. Mix up the chocolates and set them in a row. The first person looks under two chocolates and tries to find a match. Time to use your memory! Keep going until all of the matches are found! Winner will get to eat the most chocolate!

Now this game is SUPER fun! What you will need is a box of Saran Wrap and a bunch of goodies (can be candy, toys, Mud Pie clothes, what ever you want!) Before the game begins, a few people will need to help create the ball! Once it is ready to go, the fun begins! The first person starts with the ball in their lap. They try to unwrap as much as they can while the person to their right rolls a pair of dice. Once that person rolls doubles, the ball moves to the next player and it begins again! There are a lot of goodies in the ball, so keep what you unwrap as a gift! There are other ways you can make the game more fun, like blindfold the person unwrapping, make them wear mittens, use two balls for large groups, or make the person stand up while unwrapping! This game is fun for all ages!

This holiday season, appreciate time with your family. Every day is a gift, so enjoy it! After you have posted your Mud Pie goodies using #mudpiegift, put your phone away and live in the moment! This Game Night: Holiday Edition will be one that creates memories that will last a lifetime!

Have a safe and happy holiday weekend Mud Pie loves!
