Fall Bucket List: Host a Friendsgiving

Fall Bucket List: Host a Friendsgiving

The holidays are FINALLY upon us and we couldn’t be more excited to kick off all of the celebrations. Here at Mud Pie, we don’t just work together, we spend a lot of our free time with each other too! We had a few Mud Pie gals over for a Friendsgiving and our stomachs are aching from laughing so much and eating such delicious food.

First, the decor!

Not going to lie, we wish we could get away with keeping our table looking this good all year round! On our Friendsgiving table was the Grainsack Pumpkin Table Runner, an Oh So Thankful Printed Napkin for each guest with their name in our Green Pumpkin Place Card Holder, Feather Pumpkin Table Sitters (both the small and large), the Pine Cone Candle Holders and the Terracotta Pumpkin Salt & Pepper Shaker Set. Being Mud Pie gals, we had to decorate the entire place! We swapped out our everyday pillow for the Happy Fall Hook Pillow, the best selling Pumpkin Three Piece Tray Set that sat in the middle of our coffee table and replaced our oven towels with the Fall French Knot Linen Hand Towel and the Turkey French Knot Towel.

Now the delicious food!

Wow, we had so much food, we could have fed everyone in the office! We stuffed ourselves full of the most delicious food and now we all have very happy food babies. (Can we take a nap, please?) We toasted to everything we are grateful, thankful and blessed for in the world and then dove right in! In Mud Pie style, we had to have a charcuterie board. We placed the cheese, meat & grapes on our Wood & Enamel Turkey Serving Board and the crackers on our Thankful Mini Ceramic Serving Pedestal to give it some height. Of course we put the stuffing in our Thankstuffing Ceramic Serving Bowl Set (comes with a spoon that says ‘I’m Stuffed, You’re Stuffed, We’re all Stuffed’), the brussels sprouts in the Circa Veggie Bowl Set and the sweet potato casserole in the Oh So Thankful Baker Set (spoon says ‘Let the stuffing begin’). You can put the baker set in the oven up to 350 degrees! We also had an amazing salad with walnuts, goat cheese, cucumbers and beets all tossed over spinach and we had mac and cheese served in our Leftovers Ceramic Dish Two Piece Set (spoon says ‘Second Time Around’) but recommend serving it in our Ceramic Mac & Cheese Serving Bowl Set (comes with a spoon that says ‘Cheesy Goodness’). We set our absolutely mouth watering turkey on the Metal Acorn Serving Tray and decorated it with a little rosemary (you could also serve it on our Scalloped Turkey Serving Platter Set that comes with a fork that we used that says ‘Talk Turkey To Me’). Of course we couldn’t forget the cranberry sauce, which we put in our darling Tin Turkey Mini Dip Cup Stand Set. Don’t worry, we had dessert too! We made the BEST monkey bread we have ever tasted and put it on display on the Cake Pedestal Stand.

Fall Bucket List: Bake a Pie from Scratch

Circa Pie Plate & Server Set | Baelyn Plaid Shirt

Ingredients & Recipie

For the pie crust:

25 Oreo Cookies

5 tablespoons unsalted melted butter

——

  1. Finely crush your cookies. I like to use a food processor for this step, but you can also place the cookies in a plastic bag and roll the sealed bag with a rolling pin. If you’re using a rolling pin, seal the bag but leave about an inch open for air to escape. You’ll have to put some muscle in it to get a fine crush. The crust sticks together best when the cookies are crushed finely.

NOTE: You do NOT need to remove the filling from the Oreo.

2. Stir the cookie crumbs and melted butter together with a fork. Press crumbs into the bottom and up the sides of our Circa Pie Plate. Chill until ready to fill.

3. For a no-bake pie: chill the crust about 30 minutes before filling, then fill/chill as directed in the recipe.

Recipe from: Crazy for Crust

For the filling:

1 cup heavy whipping cream

1 block (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

1/3 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cu[s crushed Oreo cookies

Additional Oreos and whipped cream for garnish (optional)

——

1. In medium mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy {to avoid lumps make sure cream cheese is really soft or place in microwave for 20 seconds}.

2. Add in vanilla extract and granulated sugar. Beat until combined.

3. In separate bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form.

4. Using a rubber spatula, pour the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture and gently mix together. Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies and combine.

5. Dump into the pie crust and smooth the top.

6. Refrigerate for 6 hours before serving.

7. Before serving, garnish with additional whipped cream and Oreos.

Well we learned a few things baking a pie from scratch. One, we LOVE pie (but that doesn’t surprise us) and two, we aren’t professional pie stylists, but we are putting professional bakers on our resume because it was DELISH! It was so easy and fun using our Circa Pie Plate & Server Set. We also have a wide variety of mixing bowls and a vintage-inspired Circa Measuring Spoon Set.  (ps – hand model is wearing our best-selling Baelyn Plaid Button Down)
