Monogram Rules

January 26, 2015

monogram rulesWhat is a Monogram?

A monogram says more than a name it tells a story. It suggest who we are and puts forth our traditions, and personal identity. Not to mention, it adds character to bags, clothes, linens, etc. A monogram consists of a person’s initials, usually a variation on the first, middle, and last name. Above, I’ve provided traditional guidelines to monogramming.

“My rule is, if it’s not moving, monogram it.” -Reese Witherspoon

Now until January 31st Mud Pie is offering FREE personalization on everything! No coupon code needed- a $10 value! See all of our personalizable products here. Happy Monogramming and whenever in doubt refer to the Mud Pie monogram rules.

1 Tunic 2 Ways

January 25, 2015

My Mom and I dress a like a LOT, to the point that we show up at work wearing the same thing regularly. Every one else thinks its adorable. Us, not so much. However, wearing this particular item on the same day is less embarassing because it feels like such a staple- a tuned up basic for any wardrobe. The Samantha Tunic is a total Mud Pie favorite. It is ageless, seasonless, and the patterns are classy without being too trendy. We love this piece because it completes the look for a high-low story. Pair it with less and more expensive items and it will compliment any outfit. The Samantha is so great, in fact, that we don’t even mind being twins for the day!  Here is our way to wear 1 tunic 2 ways.

Nothing beats being able to be fashionable and comfortable at the same time. That is why I love the Harlow Pants! You can dress them up with wedges and a fun top or dress them down with flats and a comfortable tee. I prefer to wear my Harlow Pants for a casual day at work. I styled my Harlow pants with a cotton top, moccasins, fringe purse & necklace. The Harlow pants are so transitional too! Perfect item to carry you from the fall into the spring. They come in so many great prints, you will want them all!

Holiday Getaway

January 13, 2015

Every Christmas, my family and I take a holiday getaway somewhere tropical to celebrate the season…in warmth! This year, our destination was Great Exuma, Bahamas. Definitely one of my favorite island chains– the Exumas are low-key, beautiful, and filled with the friendliest people (I would HIGHLY recommend). Our short 4 day stint there did not disappoint…although I could have used some more time to work on my tan.

Before I depart, I always make sure I am supplied with the latest and greatest from the Mud Pie Spring Fashion line. Cover-ups, dresses, and totes are always my go-tos. AND I can always count on the fact that my Mud Pie outfits will pack well and be wrinkle free when I get to my destination (I absolutely detest ironing). I’ve shared some pics from my holiday getaway of my favorite MP outfits below. Hope you enjoy and share in my longing for warm weather, cabanas, and drinks on the beach again!
